waxing
lyrical

As one of those guilty of countless crimes against nature and ethics, piracy is one of them, as well as consuming red meat but altogether another story, that. no band would be greater than the Beatles or the Rolling Stones or Pink Floyd or David Bowie or Bob Marley going platinum or multi-platinum, because of piracy and it struck me how agonizing it must be, being in a band and living in the shadows of legends. there is no clear measure of how great a band you are in times like now. even the Eagles, touted the greatest American band by ads on TV, seems like a just another shallow over-used term , bah, "Greatest Band Ever Lived". how do you measure sales in times, how popular bands are, when music is so commonly shared, passed around, trampled on, a last resort for boring minutes wasting away commuting in crowded places? unlike in days of old, when music was cherished and loved and a treat for the mind and soul, when dancing to it truly meant feeling the beat thumping under your feet, the rhythm synchronised with your heartbeat. when people could cry listening, just truly listening and understanding the song as a whole, not just as a tune. "there's a hole in the world tonight, don't let there be a hole in the world tomorrow". appreciating music ,not as what it stands for, not how you portray yourself to others, but for what it REALLY is. not because listening to "but if i let you go, i will never know what my life could be holding you close to me" will make you musical pariah and "blackholes and revelations", won't. not that i have anything against muse or am a huge fan of boybands, not anymore anyway, but westlife probably felt that kind of love to be able to sing it so well, being ballad chart-toppers in my time. while the muse boys self-destructive and often heart-wrenching tunes make me wanna mosh, it just seems like they have experienced so little love. but that's just my narrow-minded opinion on some rock bands. either way, it does not matter. what matters is what touches you. sinatra makes me prance.

SO love your music. appreciate it. listen to it like it means something because hard work was put into every chorus, every minute detail, every word. and its not just music. appreciate how much work it took to bring you up, how hard it was to build your house, to assemble your desk, your windows, your modules in school, your theories at work, your buildings, shopping centres, offices. enjoy everything around you fully, bask in the warmth of the sun, the smell of rain, the view at dusk. look up when you're walking through malls, the architecture, natural light filling the spaces at sundown. soak in life. the feeling of someone staring into your eyes as you ramble on. the sound of your best friend's laughter. the smell of freshly cut green grass. beautiful pictures. absorb all the colour in nature, the well-defined lines in architecture, the amazing world that is technology that is the internet. no matter how cheesy it may sound, live every moment like you won't be able to see it the next day, or hear it again, or feel or smell it again. remember how it feels to lie on someone's shoulders and sit in perfect silence. to have your hand held. to cry. to be kissed on the cheek by your parents. to be kissed at all. to receive three words from the people who mean the world to you. and when u say those three words, mean it. thats all they ever wanted.

i totally understand how people contract OCD, because i'm inching closer to it. watching monk, the defective detective, and disinfecting my floors every other day contributes a whole lot. but some things that i calm myself with is my "walk-in wardrobe", which is in actual fact just a spare bedroom with clothes, bags and belts strewn across the floor. i love cleaning, painting, anything which gives me a sense of satisfaction like blood coursing from my toes to my head and right out of my fingertips.

deranging upon trees fallen under knees proposing questioned glances guttered yin-yang sun
